Windows Server Essentials is an ideal first server, and it can also be used as the primary server in a multi-server environment for small businesses.

Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard

Designed for low-density or non-virtualized environments, Windows Server 2012 Standard provides complete Windows Server functionality with two virtual instances. In addition, Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard provides a dynamic, multi-tenant infrastructure that goes beyond previous virtualization technologies, as well as a complete platform for creating a Microsoft Private Cloud. This allows you to scale and secure workloads, a cost-effective cloud solution and secure cloud service connectivity.

Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter

Windows Server 2012 Datacenter is designed for high-density virtualization with an unlimited number of virtual instances. In addition, Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter provides a dynamic, multi-tenant infrastructure that goes beyond previous virtualization technologies, as well as a complete platform for creating a Microsoft Private Cloud. This allows you to scale and secure workloads, a cost-effective cloud solution and secure cloud service connectivity.
